Committers for a new project are provided by the initial project owner as part of the Project Proposal Template which is presented to the TOC for approval.  The specific wiki version of the proposal at the time the project is approved by the TOC defines the list of Committers initially approved for that project. After initial approval, adding a new Committer or removing a Committer once the Project is governed by community rules.  The Charter has the official language and specific details that must be adhered to, but in a nutshell it works like this:

  • The existing committers vote for a member of the community to be promoted based upon prior contributions to the project in Gerrit. Documentation of the vote in the form of an email thread or meeting minutes is required.
  • The TOC is notified via the ORAN-TOC email list: toc@lists.o-ran-sc.org
  • The PTL edits the INFO.yaml file associated with the repo(s) and includes the link to the gerrit merge request in the request for change.
  • The PTL submits a request to (.. TBD)
  • The (.. TBD) reviews the completeness and accuracy of the evidences and follows up with Linux Foundation for execution.
