OSC Project roundup:

NONRTRIC (John Keeney)

  • Looking at how to deploy & LCM Apps in OSC E
    • Based on work in ONAP: https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/TOSCA+Defined+Control+Loops%3A+Architecture+and+Design
      • While this is based on older work on ONAP Control Loops/Clamp - it is basically a full re-architect & build.
    • Still at a very early stage, not yet ready to present / demo ... Hope to demo/present at upcoming RSAC meetings a few weeks.
    • Current prototyping going very well - using the OSC D "Link Monitor" Apps as requirements drivers & "pipe cleaner".
  • A1 Policy Functions in ONAP
    • Issue with Jenkins Job - fixed now.
    • Work continues on A1 Adapter & A1 Policy Management Service extensions.

SIM (Alex Stancu)

Service Exposure / Gateway in OSC

  • Kamel Idir What is the role / difference between NONRTRIC Service Gateway & Service exposure functions:: See Release D (sect "Non-RT-RIC (Spring Cloud) Service Gateway" & "Non-RT-RIC (Kong) Service Exposure Prototyping"))?
    • John Keeney Gateway started as function between Control Panel & A1 Services, but evolved into a generic gateway function for Apps/ControlPanel to access multiple NonRTRIC/SMO service. In parallel we experimented with Kong as an alternative basis to achieve similar functionality.
Later we envision that such a Service Exposure function may be useful for the R1 interface once it becomes better defined - to support rApps to safely expose their functionality to other rApps, and for rApps to safely access underlying SMO&NonRTRIC platform functions. But it is still too early to certain what R1 will be once standardized ....
For R1 will likely need more support functions than Kong can provide ... but hopefully these requirements will become clearer soon.

Not Discussed - for next week : ONAP Requirements Subcommittee

  1. John KeeneyMartin Skorupskiuser-59b16: I propose to open the bridge tomorrow for a discussion on "E" planning for the disaggregated VES. Mahesh only cancelled the SMO only instance which was this week. Next week is the joint RSAC+SMO meeting. I agree the deck is sparse on specific details since it was intended more as a strategy than a detailed plan. Let's align on the vision, then strategy, then project details. Would you be available at 9am Eastern tomorrow?

  2. David Kinsey: I now run into a conflict - I can only join the first 15min - anyhow I think Mahesh Jethanandaniwould be required too. but let's get started (smile)

I assume we use the RSAC zoom.

    1. David Kinsey and Martin Skorupski, in the last SMO meeting, I solicited input on items for "E" release. There was no response, and with a sparse attendance, decided to cancel the meeting for this week. We can bring this up in RSAC + SMO meeting on Thursday, July 29.
