In May and June 2020 a quick evaluation of Google Remote Procedure Call (gRPC) was conducted. The evaluation focused on the possibility of using gRPC as the transport mechanism under RMR. The brief documenting these experiments, and related slides from talks given in June are linked to this page. 

11 September 2020:  It was discovered that in running the original gRPC latency tests with pinned processes, not all of the processes were pinned as expected. These experiments were rerun, and the write up was corrected and is attached. The slides may still reflect the incorrect data, so please refer to the full write up. 

This tgz contains the small base of code used to test the gRPC in an "RMR" like manner.
