OSC SMO Meeting Series: Reminder from previous weeks:
- OSC SMO calls now move to its own time slot - Thursdays
- See OSC RSAC Calendar: https://wiki.o-ran-sc.org/display/RSAC/calendars
- (Note this meeting to open to anyone, including non-ORAN members)
- We will maintain this slot for ONAP Alignment, and try flag issues/question to/from SMO meetings.
- See OSC SMO Project meeting notes
OSC Project roundup:
NONRTRIC (John Keeney)
- A1 Policy Functions in ONAP: Istanbul release prep:
- Updating documentation, verifying tests & ensuring version step.
- Community support - chasing possible bug in A1 Simulator
- NONRTRIC :
- Introduced a new mediator function to create Enrichment Information producers from DMaaP topics - allows DMaaP information to flow to rApps.
- Implemented in Java & Go (as a PoC/learning for using Go)
- Awaiting further clarification to guess if this might be useful later support data exposure over R1
- Lot of enhancements possible (e.g. filtering, transformation, batching, access control, caching etc)
- Could be use to present O1 PM/FM/CM-notif to rApps if available on DMaaP
- Currently unidirectional DMaaP->InfoJobPublisher
- Examining the possibility of PoCing PM File collection → DMaaP (then use function above) (Already working in ONAP)
- Reuse ONAP DFC function
- Maybe later we can Bulk-PM Collection Job/Subscriptions
- ONAP PMSH service may be useful:
- PMSH usecase is quite complicated
- A simpler cut down version with less functionality may be possible.
- ONAP PMSH service may be useful:
- David McBride Ref DMaaP work on using Strimzi etc (Fiachra Corcoran)
- DMaaP Client APIs changing & possible more direct access to kafka - new Producer?
- Introduced a new mediator function to create Enrichment Information producers from DMaaP topics - allows DMaaP information to flow to rApps.
PM File management/subscription support in OSC / ORAN RAN functions / Simulators - O1 ?
- Alex Stancu Martin Skorupski John Keeney
- Currently hard coded in most simulators
- Fileready event can be triggered using a netconf rpc action towards OSC simulators
- Discussions ongoing in O1 spec.
- perhaps based on 3GPP spec fileDataReportingMnS in https://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/archive/28_series/28.532/28532-g81.zip ?
- Currently hard coded in most simulators
- Pawel Slowikowski - Also on backlog in Samsung simulator in ONAP
- Alex Stancu Martin Skorupski John Keeney
SIM (Alex Stancu)
- Working on VES stdDefined support
OAM (Martin Skorupski)
- E2E network slicing study for Orchestration
- Considering TMForum API instead of 3GPP APIs - easier licensing
O-DU (HariomGupta(HCL))
- Vidhu Shekhar Pandey Working with Mahesh Jethanandani for models
- Which VES Collector to use?
- John Keeney Martin Skorupski Should be the same - whichever VES Collector is used - So both?
- user-59b16 SMO teams will implement DMaaP adapter from their VES collector
- Which VES Collector to use?

- DARPA Project for "Open Programmable Secure" 5G stack (US GOV OPS)
- Interested in crosscutting LF projects
- Have development resources available - may contribute to ONAP & OpenDaylight initially
- Interested in Security of Network Slices
- Note ONAP use case (ONAP Enterprise Task Force team)
- Martial: not yet a use case. Working closely with SABRES research project - University of Southern California (Dr. Erik Kline - USC) for slice security
- Note ONAP use case (ONAP Enterprise Task Force team)
- Also looking at OpenFlow (OpenDaylight team)
- Interested in updating OpenFlow support in openDalight (Overlaps with a Georgia Tech. research project)
- OPS-5G MiniSummit will be co-located with ONES summit.

- Way of working
- US navy acting as an agent for DARPA
- Network of collaborators (universities, contractors etc) & own staff
- Code will be upstreamed via LFN projects - so additional open collaboration actions via LFN projects.
- Separate program to take opensource functions for use in internal testbeds/projects.
- MOJITO (Multisite OPS-5G Joint Independent Testing Option) (https://usgovops.org/ops5g/)
- LF working with US DoD to provide this to test 5G security & prototyping
- Including supporting US contributors to innovate
- With (some?) upstream contribution back to projects
- MOJITO (Multisite OPS-5G Joint Independent Testing Option) (https://usgovops.org/ops5g/)
- Desire to add automation in networks & management
- OPS-5G Relationships to 5G SuperBlueprint?
- Indirect relationship working on constituent parts.
- IPR licensing?
- Same as any other contributor
- Some usage may fall under "Governmental Use Rights"
ONAP SMO deployment options
- Not much time ... David Johnson will talk a bit more next week about interactions with ONAP SMO deployment team
